MAX485ESA General Description

MAX485ESA+ is a low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication applications. It features a 2.5V to 5.5V operating voltage range and draws only 300µA of supply current when no load or short circuit is present. The device has a data rate of up to 2.5Mbps, making it suitable for high-speed communication protocols. MAX485ESA+ also has a slew rate-limited driver to reduce EMI and minimize reflections from improperly terminated transmission lines.The transceiver is designed to withstand overvoltage transients up to ±35V on the bus pins, providing robust protection in harsh industrial environments. Additionally, it has a low-power shutdown mode to further reduce power consumption when not in use. MAX485ESA+ comes in a small 8-pin SOIC package, making it easy to integrate into space-constrained designs.
