There is no throttle on the board, i did not pay attention to this photo. And this means that the scheme is likely not pwm, but linear, the father-in-law has low efficiency and high heating. When charging with 1a current and voltage on the battery 3.4 v, when powered by 5 v, the voltage drop on the chip, will be 1.6 v at 1a current. therefore, 1.6 w will simply dissipate by heat. Since there is no radiator, most likely it will be very hot, but not yet believed.
