MAX14502AETL+ General Description

The MAX14502AETL is part of the MAX14500–MAX14503 series, which offers a solution for portable devices supporting full-speed USB communication to upgrade their USB SD card reader function to USB Hi-Speed operation. With two modes of operation, Pass Thru and Card Reader, these devices provide seamless integration and enhanced performance without the need for host microprocessor firmware modification. In Pass Thru mode, the MAX14500–MAX14503 allow SD and USB signals to pass through without any alteration, maintaining the appearance of the device not being present. On the other hand, the Card Reader mode enables independent operation as a Hi-Speed USB card reader, preserving all capabilities of the full-speed USB port and SD card slot, while allowing for faster data transfer between the PC and SD card. Additionally, the MAX14500–MAX14503 support SD high capacity SDHC cards and come in two versions – the 40-pin TQFN supporting one SD card and the 56-bump WLP version supporting two SD cards
