MCP7940N-I/SN General Description

The MCP7940N-I/SN is a low-power Real-Time Clock (RTC) device with battery backup and a digital trimming circuit. It features a 64-byte battery-backed SRAM, as well as a 64-bit unique ID for identification purposes. This RTC has a clock/calendar with alarm functions and communicates over the I2C interface. The MCP7940N-I/SN has a wide operating voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V and a low operating current of 400nA. It has a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) for accurate timekeeping. This device also has power-fail timestamp to prevent data loss during power interruptions. Additionally, the MCP7940N-I/SN is housed in an industry-standard 8-pin SOIC package, making it easy to integrate into various applications.
