MCP79410-I/SN General Description

The MCP79410-I/SN is a low-power real-time clock/calendar (RTCC) with EEPROM. It has a built-in temperature sensor, power-fail timestamp, and alarm features. The device operates from 2.3V to 5.5V and has a battery backup input with a trickle charge capability to extend the battery life. It also includes 64 bytes of EEPROM for storing data even when the power is off.The MCP79410-I/SN has a I2C interface allowing for easy communication with a microcontroller. It can generate interrupts for various events like alarms or power-fail conditions.Additionally, the RTCC has a programmable square wave output with frequencies ranging from 32kHz to 1Hz. The MCP79410-I/SN is available in a small 8-pin SOIC package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
